Wire just hit the desk: analytics firm Sensor Tower now pegs Grand Theft Auto 6 preorders above $750 million, with the game still two weeks from launch.1
As of November 3, the firm estimates 7.71 million units and $751 million in revenue across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.12 Those are third-party estimates, not sales figures from Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive, and they cover digital preorders only.2
PlayStation accounts for 74 percent of the total, about $559 million. Xbox accounts for 26 percent, about $192 million.12 The same data puts the unit split near 5.74 million on PlayStation and 1.97 million on Xbox, and shows more than $100 million added over the past two weeks.2
That continues the climb from the Sensor Tower read we carried when the estimate sat near $730 million. Earlier preorder tally
GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.12
U.S. list prices are $80 for the standard edition and $100 for the Ultimate Edition.3 In August, Sensor Tower told GamesIndustry.biz that 89 percent of preorders were already going to the $100 tier, against a typical premium share of 10 to 20 percent. “I have never seen a 90% premium share before,” said Karl Kontus, Sensor Tower SVP and GM of Video Game Insights.4 IGN’s November pass on the figures still ties the early haul to heavy Ultimate Edition demand.1
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told CNBC in August that preorders were skewing premium because the most avid players buy first. He told IGN the company aims always to “deliver vastly more value than what we charge.”1
For scale, Take-Two reported that Grand Theft Auto 5 made more than $800 million in its first 24 hours in 2013 and passed $1 billion in three days.12 GTA 6’s estimated digital preorder total is already near that first-day mark, though the comparison pairs unofficial preorder estimates with official post-launch sales.2
Our read: Sensor Tower’s tape shows real money down before launch, weighted toward PlayStation and the pricier edition. A Take-Two report would lock the ledger; until one lands, $751 million stays an estimate. The open question is how the mix shifts when later buyers show up closer to November 19.
