Terraria crossplay 'very close' as Re-Logic readies 1.4.6 submissions
Re-Logic's October State of the Game says crossplay phase one is nearly ready, with a final fix round before 1.4.6 goes to platform holders.

Field note from the Terraria camp: the sandbox game’s long-awaited crossplay update looks almost ready, and the studio’s own wording is that the crossplay era is “drawing very close.” 1
Terraria is a sandbox game from Re-Logic, and its October State of the Game gave the clearest update yet on Terraria 1.4.6 and crossplay phase one. 1 Re-Logic finished the finishing touches on phase one earlier this month and then put it through extensive testing. 1
The team hoped to submit the update across PC, mobile and console this week. 1 The latest tests turned up a few things to fix first, so that has slipped. 1 Head of Business Strategy Ted ‘Loki’ Murphy says that if all goes well, the team should be back on track by next week. 1
After that, it’s a waiting game. Console platform holders and other first parties have to approve the update, and Re-Logic expects 1.4.6 to get tighter scrutiny than usual because crossplay is a new feature that cuts across multiple platforms. 1 Once Re-Logic has full signoff, it plans to push the launch button. 1 I’m fond of honest slips like this one: a few fixes now beats a rough launch later.
Beyond launch, the studio is already setting plans for crossplay phase two and what comes after it. 1 Monthly State of the Game posts will carry those details. 1
There is also a new face. Kerri R, nicknamed ‘The Rat Queen,’ joins as Community Manager, arriving from the same role at Vampire Survivors developer Poncle. 1 She will handle most social media posts and replies and help on the Terraria Community Forums and official Discord. 1 Murphy hints she may bring Halloween-style contest ideas soon. 1 Her own Terraria stance: the game needs more rats. 1
Our read: Re-Logic sounds confident and is being straight about the delay. Phase one probably lands this year, but the timing now depends on approvals the studio doesn’t control.
Worth knowing: watch your Steam updates list, since Re-Logic says it will launch as soon as it gets the all-clear. 1
