Hot off the wire, and right on the clock: Ubisoft is pushing Update 1.0.8 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced today, and according to Eurogamer it is the game’s last major patch.1
The drop lands on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 27 at 10am ET (7am PT, 2pm UK). Most platforms pull a 2 to 4.5 GB download. Xbox takes a 15.5 GB hit.1
The big ticket is New Game Plus. Eurogamer reports Ubisoft started that work in July after Resynced shipped. Plenty of progress carries over: Edward’s tools, upgrades, unlocked weapons, and trinkets; the Jackdaw’s upgrades, unlocked officer abilities, and pets—officers leave the deck and must be recruited again; money, materials, trade goods, customizable outfits, hideout progression, perks, art, Kenway fleet ships, Codex items including treasure maps, and store purchases.1
Quest-related items do not. Forts must be retaken. The map’s fog of war resets.1
NG+ adds Escudos, earned from challenges and previously unlocked chests, spent on exclusive outfits and items or swapped from Reales at the General Store. Each run gets harder—more elite soldiers, more max-rank ships—and players can enter NG+ up to five times.1
Nightmare Mode joins the difficulty slate. Enemy reaction times and damage climb. Parry windows tighten. Ranged foes target more often. The one-shot kill safety net is gone, so burst damage from bullets and explosives can finish a run even with health left. Ubisoft’s aim, Eurogamer notes, was a harsh ride “where every duel can be your last”.1
Community chests, new cosmetics, fresh takedown animations, and a stack of bug fixes fill out the rest. The full changelog is on the official Assassin’s Creed site. Eurogamer also flags the game as seemingly bound for Nintendo Switch 2 with prior additions included.1
That’s the wire. The rest is open water.
