Rockstar confirms GTA 6 preload from November 10 at up to 212 GB

Rockstar Games confirmed Tuesday that Grand Theft Auto 6 digital preload begins November 10, with an install size of up to 212 GB depending on the device, ahead of a global launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.1

PlayStation 5 preloading opens at midnight local time on Tuesday, November 10. Xbox Series X and S preload starts on a single clock: November 10 at 12am GMT, which is 4pm PT and 7pm ET on November 9.12

That is a hard drive meal, not a snack. Rockstar set the preload file at up to 212 GB and told players to free room early, saying to make sure they have “ample space.”12

Code-in-box versions for both consoles should be available from retailers beginning November 12, Rockstar said. The Verge puts the launch price at $79.99 and says the game is digital download only, with physical editions carrying a code in the box.12

The launch itself runs on local midnight across PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. Los Angeles unlocks at 9pm PST on November 18. New York hits 12am EST on November 19. London, Mexico City, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, and Melbourne follow the same local-midnight pattern.1

On November 19 Rockstar will add an official printable cover art poster and map of Leonida as a free digital download on its site. A double-sided physical version goes up shortly after launch from the Rockstar Store for $0.99 on its own, or free with any purchase from the store.13

Our read: Rockstar put the preload clocks and the storage ceiling in writing with the launch two weeks out. Staggered platform start times will split the first download wave; 212 GB is the practical gate for anyone short on console storage. The free Leonida map and cheap poster are side items. Watch whether code-in-box stock reaches shelves on November 12 as Rockstar expects, and whether day-one updates push the final install past that preload figure.
