Hot off the wire, and colder than a dead server: The Pokémon Company confirmed Pokémon Unite is shutting down. Service ends Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC, according to VGC.1

The cutoff hits the Nintendo Switch version and the iOS and Android builds the same way. No separate runway for Switch players. Midnight UTC. Lights out.

Microtransactions stopped today, October 27, 2026. Sales of the Aeos Gem premium currency are finished. Players get no refunds on gems they already hold. They can keep spending what is left until the end date.1

New Unite Club sign-ups are closed. Automatic renewals on existing memberships are off. Current members keep the paid features only through the end of their active period.

The game launched as a cross-platform 5v5 MOBA on Switch, iOS, and Android in July 2021. The Switch version specifically started service on July 21, 2021. New Pokémon still arrived two months ago. Now the company has set the final clock.

“Thank you for playing Pokémon Unite,” the official site statement said.1

A special event runs until service ends. The company framed it as thanks to the trainers who stuck around. An update lands November 12 with that event and a library feature. During the event, players can grab items that include Unite licenses and Holowear from the game’s full run.

Download the update and finish the required library data pull before March 23, 2027, and the library stays usable afterward for certain records and in-game content. Everything else stops. The game will no longer be playable.1

The Pokémon Unite Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competitive tournament still goes ahead as previously announced. It is a Unite-only event. The title had already been retired from the wider official competitive Pokémon circuit.

That is the full board for Switch owners and mobile players alike. Gems stop selling today. Club renewals are dead. One November update. One last event window. Then March 23, 2027, at midnight UTC. The Pressed Pixel will be watching the final whistle.
