Capcom recorded its highest software unit sales for a fiscal first half in its 47-year history, with Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil titles at the top of the list. 1

The result covers the six months ended September 30, 2026. Capcom said sales and profits rose year on year and that it was making steady progress toward its full-year earnings forecast, with latest titles across series helping drive catalog growth. 2

Digital content volume reached 36.86 million units in the half, up from 23.85 million in the same period a year earlier. 3

Catalog games set the pace. Monster Hunter World stood at 30.83 million lifetime units after a 1.17 million gain in the period. Resident Evil 2 reached 20.38 million after adding 2.06 million. Resident Evil 7 followed at 18.87 million after a 1.47 million rise. 1

Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 3, and Devil May Cry 5 also ranked among the half’s top sellers on the same tally. Newer releases Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword sat lower on that list. 1

Pragmata sold more than 2.7 million copies. Onimusha: Way of the Sword passed 1.7 million after its September 4 launch. Resident Evil Requiem surpassed 8 million units. 3

The mix was overwhelmingly digital. Capcom’s figures put digital sales at 92.4 percent, with 57.1 percent on PC and 35.3 percent on consoles. Physical units were 7.6 percent. 4

Capcom expects the digital share to reach 95.4 percent by the end of the next quarter, leaving 4.6 percent for physical. 4

In the digital content segment, sales rose 70.8 percent year on year and operating profit rose 66.7 percent. Overall revenue climbed 49 percent and operating profit 54.5 percent, per the filing. 3

@IGN posted that Capcom was marking the record first-half software sales, with Monster Hunter World, Resident Evil 2, and RE7 Biohazard leading. 5

Capcom has long tracked a rising digital ratio. In 2020 it put the share near 80 percent and said it was aiming higher. 6

Our read: Unit volume in the half still rests on Monster Hunter and Resident Evil catalog sales more than on any single new launch. A 92.4 percent digital mix, with a higher target already on the board, is the operating model. The full-year report will show whether that catalog cycle holds its rate.
