The best deal here is the full 25-key tier: Fanatical is selling 25 random Steam keys for $17.49, about $0.70 a game, and the pool includes a few games you would normally pay real money for.1

I interrogated this one hard, because a mystery box is a coupon wearing a blindfold. Here is what is on the record. The keys are drawn from more than 500 titles, ranging from big AAA releases to small indie games, and the average Steam rating across the pool is “very positive.”1 The price per key drops as you buy more, which is the whole trick: the single key is the worst value, and the 25-key tier is the best.1

The luck part is real. Only 50 chests contain a key for the newly released Phantom Blade Zero, so most buyers will not see it.1 Other games that might turn up include Black Myth: Wukong, Doom: The Dark Ages, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Crimson Desert, Silent Hill Townfall and The Blood of Dawnwalker.1 A rare golden chest holds $1,000 worth of games.1

There is also a sweetener: any purchase, of any number of keys, enters you in a draw for a 1TB Steam Frame once the bundle ends.1 No end date is given in the source.

Mystery Chest Bundle, 1 key ($1): Skip it. You get one random game and the lowest odds of a standout; the discount only shows up when you buy more.

Mystery Chest Bundle, 25 keys ($17.49): Buy it if you just want a pile of well-reviewed games for pocket change and can live with duplicates of nothing you picked. Skip it if you only want Phantom Blade Zero, because 50 copies is a lottery ticket, not a plan.

Verdict: verified, with a catch. The catch is that you do not choose what you get.

These prices were as listed when this ran and may change.

Our read: This is a bulk buy, not a bargain on any one game. Treat the cheap per-key price as the product and any big title as a bonus.
