watchOS 27 beta unlocks Siri Recap and Live Rewind on Apple Watch
Apple’s watchOS 27.3 beta turns on Siri Recap and Live Rewind for Series 12 and Ultra 4, with hardware, iPhone, language, region and daily-use limits.

Apple’s watchOS 27.3 beta, out for testing on November 3, 2026, enables Siri Recap and Live Rewind on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 for anyone willing to install the build.1
Apple first showed the pair in September with those two watches. Siri Recap uses Apple Intelligence to build a title and key points from a conversation and keeps the summary in the Siri app for later. Live Rewind turns the last 15 seconds of audio into text; a double-press of the Digital Crown opens the snippet so you can ask Siri about it or save it in the same app.1
Only Series 12 and Ultra 4 support the features. Their microphones can listen continuously, and the S11 chip is what Apple says handles the Audio Intelligence work. You also need a paired iPhone 16 or later—not the iPhone 16e—with Apple Intelligence turned on. The tools launch in English only, stay out of the EU for now, and face daily usage limits. Some pieces must be switched on by hand; each one can be opted out of.1
That Apple Intelligence requirement on the phone lines up with the language and region constraints we covered on November 1.2
On privacy, Apple says the features do not record or store audio. The S11 processes sound in isolation and deletes it at once; the company says the operating system, apps, users and Apple cannot reach the raw stream. Audio Intelligence does not name speakers. Live Rewind still plays a chime and shows a microphone indicator even when the watch is silent. Siri Recap is said to omit sensitive details such as financial information.1
Asterisk count: five. The largest is the Series 12 / Ultra 4 hardware lock plus the iPhone Intelligence gate.
Who this is for: Series 12 or Ultra 4 owners on a supported iPhone who will run a beta, stay in English, and live inside the daily caps.
Our read: The beta delivers the September pitch with the usual stack of gates—two watches, a short iPhone list, English-only, no EU yet, and daily limits. The always-on mic story rests on Apple’s isolation and delete claims; the chime, indicators and opt-outs are the controls users can see. The open question is how fast those caps and language walls move before a wider release.
