Local Player Finishes Tutorial, Is Told Next Lesson Begins Immediately

Lantern Hollow Interactive says the opening hours are now a separate, longer tutorial.

Dale Pruitt, 34, completed the opening tutorial of Harbor Quest Nine on Tuesday evening, roughly three hours after he first pressed Start. The game congratulated him, then asked him to press the left trigger to crouch.

He did. A pop-up explained that crouching is a new mechanic introduced in the next tutorial, which begins once he has watched a forty-second cinematic about the importance of keeping one's hands on the controller.

"I've got a job," Pruitt said, standing up and then sitting back down, because the game had asked him to learn how to stand. Lantern Hollow Interactive has confirmed the tutorial will be expanded in a future update, and that players who have not yet reached the main menu may keep their save files as a keepsake.
