Local Man Finishes Download Just in Time for Day-One Patch

Player says the 14-gigabyte update was worth the wait, though the game itself remains unopened.

Dale Pruitt, 34, of Fenwick Court, spent Tuesday evening watching a progress bar sit at 97 percent for four hours. He described the bar as "emotionally present."

When the download finished at 2:14 a.m., the game launched straight into a mandatory 9.6-gigabyte update from Lantern Hollow Interactive, which the publisher called a "quality-of-life refinement." The update rearranged the main menu, removed the sword from the tutorial, and added a pop-up asking Pruitt to rate the update.

Pruitt gave it five stars. He then closed the game and noticed that a second update was scheduled for Thursday. He has not yet seen the title screen, but he says he feels ready for whatever comes next.
