Kingdom of Gaming event delayed from December to 2027
The Saudi-backed Kingdom of Gaming industry show has left its December Riyadh dates for an unspecified slot in 2027, with no formal public explanation.

Hot off the wire Monday: Kingdom of Gaming, the Saudi government-backed industry event planned for Riyadh, has moved from December to an open date in 2027.1
The show’s website and social accounts last week replaced the December 1-3 dates with “Coming in 2027.” No public announcement followed. ReaderGrev first noted the change, and GamesIndustry.biz carried the story.1
Benjamin Kratsch, chief business development officer at Saudi-linked Levelz Gaming Group, offered the closest official note. On LinkedIn on October 28 he said the event is still coming. “It takes a little longer, given the current situation,” he wrote.1
Tahaluf organizes it as a joint venture of Informa, the company behind GDC, and the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones. Promotional plans listed more than 20,000 attendees, 500 studios, 200 investors, and names such as Ubisoft and Roblox.1
Neither Informa nor Tahaluf answered requests for comment. In an October 27 trading update Informa said growing disruption in Saudi Arabia forced it to move other events, including Cityscape Global to January 2027 and the Global Health Exhibition to October 2027. It now expects no further Saudi revenue this year.1
No firm date. No full explanation. The wire stays open.
Our read: Soft updates and one LinkedIn line leave the delay thin on detail. Informa’s own note links Saudi disruption to lost event revenue, so the 2027 shift reads as forced rather than elective. Studios and buyers will want a locked date before they treat the show as real again.
